Padre Alberto: "People confuse sex with love"

Padre Alberto spoke with Teresa Rodriguez last night's edition of "Aqui y Ahora", where he had some interesting statements. Among them that he's only been intimate with Ruhama in his 22 year career as a priest.

"We were friend's for a while and it became more in recent years" Padre Alberto explains, "I will take a break to reflect, pray, and see what I will do...I love this women...This is a transition".

Meanwhile, American tv is covering the issue of celibicy, which Padre Alberto has become the poster child for, or as he says "I'm the rebel priest". Good Morning America had a full discussion with its host with Diane Sawyer saying, "Its time for the church let priest get married".

Padre Alberto on The Early Show on CBS

WHO SAID UNIVISION HAD EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW? Father Alberto Cutié spoke to fellow Miamian host of the CBS The Early Show, Maggie Rodriguez about the scandal that has rocked the Latin entertainment scene and Catholic church on Monday's show.

“I don't want to be the anticelibacy priest,” he says. “I think it's a debate that's going on in our society, and now I've become kind of a poster boy for it. But I don't want to be that. In my case it was something I struggled with for a long time in confession. And something that I never expected to become a public debate."

Despite his relationship, in 22 years of priesthood this is the first time he's had sexual relationship. He's in love and not sure yet what's in the future with his relationship with Ruhama Canellis.

Linda Ronstadt and the San Jose Mariachi & Mexican Heritage Festival Announce 2009 Schedule

Linda Ronstadt today announced details of the 2009 schedule for the San Jose Mariachi and Mexican Heritage Festival (SJMF), the signature Latino destination event of Northern California. As the presenting sponsor, Target is making it possible for this year's Feria del Mariachi to be free and open to the public. Major funding for this year's festival is also provided by the City of San Jose and the Redevelopment Agency.

"The 2009 schedule is full of exciting new interpretations of the traditional mariachi canon, a very special homage to Cesar Chavez with guests Los Lobos and Carlos Santana, a singular evening with a singer of Mexican heritage that I have very much admired ... Joan Baez over the years," announced Ronstadt, Artistic Director of the Festival. "All are eager to share with our appreciative, adventurous, and passionate audience, and with the great Bay Area community that supports us."

The weeklong schedule includes "Mariachi Goes to the Movies", a new interpretive performance celebrating Mexico's Golden Era of Mexican Film and a concert with special guests Los Lobos, Linda Ronstadt and Carlos Santana, appearing together for the first time to honor Cesar Chavez.

Zoë Saldaña Glams Up LATINA Cover

Zoë Saldaña is on her way to becoming one of Hollywood's hottest Latina's. She's in the new Star Trek movie that raked in $75 million this past weekend, biggest opening for a franchise movie. Despite the fame she's getting, she reveals her life on the latest Latina June/July issue.

ON AVOIDING A HOLLYWOOD EGO: "You’ll never see me shopping on Robertson Boulevard or hanging out in super-public spaces like that. I’m fiercely territorial about my privacy. And I cannot follow a crowd,” she says. “I never want to get to the point where I’m walking a red carpet thinking, ‘I’m fabulous.’ At times, Hollywood is going to get the best of you, and you will wake up feeling overconfident. But I have too many people that keep me in check if I fail to do so myself.”

ON HER VERSION OF A FUN STATURDAY NIGHT: “We just get together in my house or at a friend’s house,” she says, “and it’s about finding the most expensive bottles of wine and having the most exquisite conversations till 3 o’clock in the morning—and having someone sober drive us home. Usually the men.”
